The Sound Outside - Listening to the World at Covid19 Time

"The Sound Outside - Listening to the World at Covid19 Time" is the Italian project designed and curated by myself in collaboration with Sara Lenzi, my colleague based in Spain, and hosted by sounDesign.org. The goal is to gather and make public a collective sound archive dedicated to soundscapes of as many places in the world as we can, in this strange time when cities and whole countries and in lockdown due to Covid-19. New sounds emerge, others are recovered, others have been lost. Now through sound we can show a reality that is hidden from our eyes due to the forced reclusion to fight the virus.

Started in February and was aimed at sound professionals. By May 2020 we have received 112 recordings from all over the world.
